What does Chef & Chief do?

Chef & Chief creates tailor-made culinary experiences for private dining, events, companies, workshops and celebrations on location. We bring restaurant-level dining to your home, company or event venue, with a menu, service and atmosphere that fit the moment.

Can you come cook at our home?

Yes. Chef & Chief comes to your home for private dining, dinners with friends or family celebrations. We bring ingredients, mise en place, kitchen equipment, service and craft. You host your guests; we cook, serve and clean up.

What events can we book Chef & Chief for?

You can book Chef & Chief for private dinners, birthdays, communions, baptisms, weddings, wedding anniversaries, corporate events, client dinners, receptions, offsites, product launches, board dinners, workshops and custom culinary experiences.

Do you only work for weddings?

No. We take care of weddings as well as other private events, family celebrations and corporate events. Think birthdays, communions, baptisms, anniversaries, garden parties, receptions, teambuildings, offsites and dinners on location.

Is Chef & Chief classic catering?

No. Chef & Chief is not standard catering from a catalogue. We build tailor-made culinary experiences: from private dining and walking dinners to corporate events, workshops and custom experiences.

What is Chef & Chief’s cooking style?

Our style is generous, refined and accessible. We work with global flavours, Mediterranean influences, quality products, fire, BBQ, sharing dishes, refined small plates and dishes that bring people together.

Where do you get your inspiration?

Our kitchen is inspired by travel, Mediterranean roots, markets, long tables, culinary cultures and products with character. We look for flavours that make sense and dishes that fit the moment.

Walking dinners & formulas

Can you provide a walking dinner?

Yes. Chef & Chief creates walking dinners with small plates that can be combined into a full menu. Ideal for receptions, corporate events, weddings, birthdays or informal dinners where guests can move around freely.

What is the difference between private dining and a walking dinner?

With private dining, guests are usually seated at the table and dishes are served course by course. With a walking dinner, we serve several small plates or bites in a more informal setting, often standing or spread throughout the space. Both formulas are created to measure.

Do you work with fixed menus?

Not as a standard. We have sample menus and favourite formulas for inspiration, but every proposal is adapted to your event, taste, season and guests.

Do you have sample menus?

Yes. We are happy to share sample menus for inspiration, such as a luxury walking dinner with live BBQ, a walking dinner for corporate events, a combination of small plates and The Meat Board, or a classic 3-course dinner at the table. These examples are indicative; every event receives a tailored proposal.

What is The Meat Board?

The Meat Board is a sharing formula with large wooden boards served at the table. We serve a selection of premium meat, complemented for example with Pluma Iberico and grilled prawns. It comes with seasonal vegetables, hasselback potatoes with herb butter and homemade sauces.

Can you provide live cooking or BBQ?

Yes. We can integrate live cooking, BBQ, asado and fire cooking into an event. This can be part of a luxury walking dinner, garden party, corporate event or custom experience.

Do you offer desserts?

Yes. We can provide desserts such as a homemade dessert, cardamom ice cream, marinated fruit or an artisanal dessert buffet with pastries, choux and fruit tartlets.

Can you take care of a full evening from aperitif to dessert?

Yes. We can take care of the full culinary experience: aperitif, small plates, starter, main course, dessert, drinks, pairings, cocktails, service and clean-up.

Menus, allergies & dietary needs

Do you create every menu to measure?

Yes. Every proposal is tailored to your guests, location, season, preferences, dietary needs and the rhythm of the event. We do not work with fixed standard menus, but with menus that fit the occasion and atmosphere you want to create.

Can you provide vegetarian or fish dishes?

Yes. We build menus to measure and can provide vegetarian dishes, fish dishes, meat dishes or combinations. Dietary needs and allergies are discussed in advance and integrated into the proposal.

Do you take allergies and dietary needs into account?

Yes. Allergies, intolerances, dietary needs and personal preferences are discussed in advance. Based on this, we adjust the menu where possible. Always share this in time so we can prepare safely and correctly.

Drinks & pairings

Can you provide drinks as well?

Yes. Chef & Chief can provide a full drinks formula with wines, bubbles, cocktails, mocktails and pairings. Our sommelier can create a wine pairing around the menu, from classic French to deliberately more adventurous.

What wine formulas do you offer?

We work with three wine levels: basic, medium and luxury. Basic stands for accessible, quality wines. Medium offers more character, complexity and origin. Luxury is for special bottles and premium pairings where wine may play a leading role.

Can we serve our own wines?

Yes. If you have your own wines or special bottles you would like to serve, we are happy to integrate them into the evening. You can choose a full drinks formula through Chef & Chief, or provide the drinks yourself while our team takes care of the service.

Do you provide Champagne or bubbles?

Yes. We can provide Champagne, Crémant, Franciacorta or other bubbles as an aperitif, for a toast or as a finish with dessert. The selection is matched to the atmosphere, menu and your preferences.

Do you also make cocktails and mocktails?

Yes. Chef & Chief creates classic cocktails, signature cocktails, original creations and alcohol-free alternatives tailored to the event. Think welcome cocktail, signature drink for a celebration, cocktails with dessert or mocktails without alcohol.

Workshops & Custom Experiences

Do you offer cooking workshops?

Yes. Chef & Chief offers hands-on cooking workshops in small groups, at your home or on location. Think pasta workshops, sushi & sashimi, asado & BBQ, cocktail workshops or a fully custom workshop.

Can you host a cocktail workshop?

Yes. We offer cocktail workshops where guests learn to shake, stir, taste and combine. We work with classics, original creations, sours, vermouths, bitters and surprising flavour makers.

Can you create a workshop to measure?

Yes. We can build a workshop completely around your group, event or company. Think global streetfood, Mediterranean sharing dishes, festive bites, foodpairing, BBQ, cocktails, sushi or a specific culinary theme.

What does Custom Experiences mean at Chef & Chief?

Custom Experiences are culinary concepts that go beyond a classic menu. We build a full experience around an idea, theme, location, journey, product launch or special moment. We think along about menu, drinks, service, timing, atmosphere and flow.

What is the difference between a standard event and a custom experience?

A standard event usually starts from a clear formula, such as private dining, walking dinner or corporate dinner. A custom experience goes further: we build a full culinary concept around a theme, location, journey, brand, story or special occasion.

Corporate & business

Do you cook for corporate events?

Yes. Chef & Chief takes care of corporate events such as client dinners, relationship evenings, team events, offsites, product launches, opening events, Christmas dinners, end-of-year events, board dinners and investor dinners.

What makes Chef & Chief suitable for companies?

We combine restaurant-level dining with professional organisation, discreet service and full support. Companies can welcome clients, employees or partners with a menu to measure, without having to carry the practical organisation themselves.

Can you work discreetly during business dinners?

Yes. For business dinners and board dinners, we provide discreet service. Our team is present when needed and remains in the background when the conversation takes centre stage.

Can you provide business invoicing?

Yes. Business invoicing is possible for corporate events, client dinners, offsites, workshops and corporate dining.

Location & practical

Can you cook at a location of our choice?

Yes. We cook at people’s homes, company venues, event locations, gardens, villas, galleries, lofts, chalets and other locations. In advance, we align on the available kitchen and materials.

Do you work outside Brussels?

Yes. Chef & Chief cooks at locations across Belgium, including Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Knokke, Leuven, Mechelen, Walloon Brabant, the Ardennes and Durbuy. On request, we also travel further for events abroad.

Can you help us find a location?

Yes. If you do not have a location yet, we can think along in the Brussels region and help find a suitable place for your dinner, celebration, workshop or corporate event.

Can you also take care of an event abroad?

Yes, on request. For destination events, we can travel to locations outside Belgium, such as a villa, chalet or private venue in Europe. Practical feasibility is reviewed per request.

What do you bring yourselves?

We bring the necessary ingredients, mise en place, kitchen equipment, service and craft. Depending on the location and formula, we discuss in advance which materials are available and what needs to be provided additionally.

Do we need to prepare anything ourselves?

In most cases, not much. In advance, we discuss the location, kitchen, timing, number of guests, allergies and practical needs. On the day itself, we take care of the culinary preparation, service and clean-up.

Do you clean up afterwards?

Yes. We take care of the clean-up of our kitchen work and leave the kitchen tidy, as we found it. Exact practical agreements depend on the location and formula.

Proposal & prices

How do I request a proposal?

You can request a proposal by sharing your date, location, number of guests, type of event, desired formula and any preferences or allergies. We then create a tailored proposal.

What do you need to make a proposal?

For a good proposal, we need at least: date, location, number of guests, type of event, desired formula, timing, dietary needs, allergies, drinks preferences and any ideas around atmosphere or menu.

Are the prices fixed?

No. Prices depend on formula, number of guests, location, season, menu, drinks, materials, staff and practical needs. Sample menus give a price indication, but every proposal is calculated to measure.

What does a private chef at home cost?

The price of a private chef at home depends on the number of guests, menu, formula, location, drinks, service and possible extras. Chef & Chief works with tailored proposals so the price matches your event and expectations.

What does a walking dinner cost?

The price of a walking dinner depends on the number of small plates, the type of products, the number of guests, the location, service and drinks. Sample menus can give an indication, but every walking dinner is calculated to measure.

Do you work with minimum numbers?

That depends on the formula, location and practical organisation. For private dining, walking dinners, corporate events and workshops, we review per request what is feasible and logical.

Can you also cook for small groups?

Yes. Chef & Chief also cooks for smaller groups, for example intimate dinners, private dining, workshops or special evenings at home.

Can you also handle large events?

Yes. We also take care of larger events such as weddings, corporate events, receptions and walking dinners. Depending on the size of the event, we provide the right team, preparation and service flow.

Booking & introduction

How far in advance should we book?

The earlier, the better, especially for weekends, weddings, the end-of-year period and larger events. Last-minute requests are sometimes possible, depending on availability, location and formula.

Do you also work on weekends?

Yes. Chef & Chief also works on weekends for private dining, weddings, family celebrations, walking dinners, workshops and events.

Can we first have an introduction call?

Yes. For events and larger requests, we like to start with a conversation. That way, we get to know your taste, guests, atmosphere and expectations, and can create a proposal that really fits.
