Private dining

You host, we take care of the rest.

“From aperitif to last glass. You host, we take care of the rest.”

We bring everything with us: fresh quality ingredients, prepared mise en place, kitchen equipment, experienced kitchen and service staff, and everything needed to treat you and your guests to a refined culinary experience.

You host with ease, a glass in hand. We cook, serve and clean up. At the end of the evening, we leave your kitchen as tidy as we found it.

  • Fresh quality ingredients

Selected for flavour, origin and season. We bring everything with us. You do not have to organise or prepare anything.

  • Prepared mise en place

Most of the work happens beforehand in our kitchen. At your home, we finish, plate and serve smoothly and without chaos.

  • Experienced kitchen and service staff

Chloë and Dax cook themselves. For larger groups, we strengthen the team with fixed, experienced kitchen and service people.

  • A tidy kitchen afterwards

Service through clean-up is included. After the last guest, we leave your kitchen exactly as we found it. Sometimes even better.

How it works

From first idea to last glass, in four steps.

Booking a private chef in Belgium should not be complicated. We designed a simple, quick and transparent process — from your first request to the moment we leave your kitchen, tidier than we found it.

For which events

From intimate dinner to private wedding.

Chef & Chief steps in for every moment you want to host like in a restaurant — without renting a venue, without complicated logistics, and without facing a kitchen after your guests leave.

Pricing

What does a private chef cost in Belgium?

Transparency first. At Chef & Chief, the price for a private dining in Belgium ranges from €80 to €150 per person for the full menu, drinks not included.

The final price depends on several factors:

  • Guest count (from 14 people)

  • Season and product availability
  • Distance — Brussels, rest of Belgium, or international
  • Format: seated dinner, walking dinner, large sharing table
  • Service requested: kitchen only, or kitchen + service in the room

Drinks (wine, champagne, water, cocktails) can be included in the proposal or provided by you, as you prefer.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is the minimum number of guests?

Our private chef format starts from 14 guests. Below that, we offer a tasting format for 2 (Valentine's, intimate birthdays). No strict maximum: we regularly serve 60+ guests by expanding the kitchen and service team.

What kind of kitchen do I need at home?

A standard kitchen is enough: oven, hob, sink, and some counter space. Most of the mise en place is done in advance in our professional kitchen. For atypical venues (gardens, lofts, castles), we bring our own mobile equipment.

How do you handle allergies and special diets?

We ask about all dietary requirements from the first conversation: allergies, intolerances, diets (vegetarian, vegan, kosher, halal, gluten-free, dairy-free). The menu is adapted accordingly, in most cases with no supplement.

How far in advance should I book?

Ideally 4 to 8 weeks ahead. For New Year's Eve, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and high wedding season (May-September), we recommend 3 to 6 months. For last-minute requests, contact us — we sometimes have open slots.

What exactly is included?

Everything: ingredients, advance mise en place, transport, equipment, on-site cooking, plating, service in the room (depending on format), and clean-up. Drinks are optional. Your only job: host your guests.

What happens if I need to cancel?

The deposit (30%) is paid on confirmation. For cancellations up to 14 days before the event, the deposit stays valid for rescheduling within 12 months. Beyond that, the deposit is retained. In force majeure cases (illness, bereavement), we always find a humane solution.
